Artists! Artisans! Crafters! CFCR invites you to be involved in our 2nd annual International Women’s Day fundraiser, to be held at PAVED Arts on Friday, March 8th, 2013.
CFCR Community Radio is a non-profit, volunteer-powered organization serving the alternative radio needs of Saskatoon, and are proud to provide people with an eclectic mix of music, spoken word, and multicultural programming. Committed to local initiatives, CFCR supports local charitable organizations in an effort to improve the city of Saskatoon, and the lives of those who live here. This year, all proceeds from the International Women’s Day Fundraiser will go to the Adelle/Interval House, a low-cost apartment complex for women escaping abuse who live and work together to foster a safe and enriching community for themselves and their children. In 2012, the CFCR Women’s Day event raised over $800 for the Elizabeth Fry Society of Saskatoon.
In addition to supporting the city’s community-based organizations, our event complements CFCR’s wider initiative of developing closer relationships with Saskatoon artisans and makers by featuring their work in the Silent Auction portion of the fundraiser. This is a unique opportunity for local artisans to increase their profile in the community while also supporting our fundraising initiative.
This year’s event will include a silent auction, live music, and a fashion show. A viewing of the silent auction items featured will kick off the event at 7 pm. We would be thrilled if you chose to participate in the silent auction.
If you are interested in donating any of your work, or in supporting this initiative in any way, please contact our office by February 28th, 2013 at firstname.lastname@example.org or 306-664-6678. Participating artists will receive a complimentary ticket to the event, along with up to 50% of the purchase price of their artwork. The remaining portion from the sale will be donated to the Adelle/Interval House.
